Origin
Sherlock Holmes is based off the main character (of the same name) from
Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes novels. In those stories, Sherlock
Holmes is also an eccentric consulting detective who solves cases
together with his companion John H. Watson.

- Sherlock came seventh in the first character popularity poll and
sixth in the second poll.
- His profile both states that he likes mystery and that his life's

Yes, William James Moriarty is the arch-nemesis of Sherlock Holmes in
Moriarty the Patriot. They start out as enemies on a formal level, and
William is a professor of mathematics and crime consultant. William is
also the biological younger brother of Albert James Moriarty and the
adoptive brother of William & Louis James Moriarty. The two share a
close relationship and it was a twist on Conan Doyle's original Sherlock
Holmes series. The fandom even has a ship name for them, Sherliam!

Though they are enemies on a formal level, they have made a vow to live
together and guide each other on their atonement. Moriarty has an
obsession with Sherlock, considering him the only one smart enough to
figure out his game, and while living as Irene Adler, they had a
relationship that lasted seven months. However, despite their
connections, Moriarty does not hesitate to try and kill Sherlock when he
loses interest, and even though his scheme was foiled in The Lost Cases
of Sherlock Holmes, Moriarty still managed to escape.
